Exports of molds and dies have fallen during 2018, although this decline has been slight and the absolute values indicate the second best year, only surpassed by the excellent figures of last year. In 2018, more than € 490m were sold abroad in Moulds and Dies, an amount that maintains the expectations created last year.
On the other hand, imports have fallen in all its specialties during 2018, highlighting China as the main supplier of plastic and metal injection molds. However, Germany is positioned as the main supplier of dies. Portugal, France, Italy and Poland are the other European countries that, together with Germany, lead sales to Spain.
The decrease of both exports and imports causes the trade balance, which became negative in 2016, to return to positive in 2018, that is, it has exported more than it has been imported.
